| Objective: To investigate the value of Copeptin combined with Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation Score (APACHE II Score) in evaluating the prognosis for critically ill patients. Methods: 50 critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) in Nanxiang Hospital from January 1 to August 31,2013 were enrolled in our study. APACHE II score were done for all participants while they were admitted to ICU. Meanwhile, the levels of Copetin were measured. The relationship between Copetin combined with APACHE II score and mortality was analyzed. Results: 50 patients were divided into 3 groups according to APACHE II score. Along with the increasing APACHE II score, the level of Copeptin increased significantly (P＜0.01). 38 patients survived, while 12 patients died. And the level of Copeptin and APACHE II score were significantly higher in the death patients than in the survival patients(P＜0.01). Conclusion: The level of Copeptin in critically ill patients had clinical significance to evaluate the prognosis. |
