| Abstract Peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) has become the first line treatment for esophageal motility disorders such as achalasia (AC). However, the preoperative prediction and management strategies of difficult POEM remain prominent clinical challenges. Based on recent domestic and international clinical studies, this article demonstrates the definition, common causes, risk prediction and management strategies of difficult POEM, aiming to provide a reference for digestive endoscopists in clinical decision-making for difficult POEM. |
